Note: we normally post PSAs to /r/GameDealsMeta, but due to the potential impact of this issue, we're posting in the main sub instead.
As you may be aware, Indie Gala recently switched to using G2A Pay for their credit card processing. We became aware yesterday that some users were being signed up for G2A Shield due to it being enabled by default while purchasing a bundle from Indie Gala. This is due to a very subtle checkbox that defaulted to being on.
To the best of our knowledge, this has only occurred in the last day or two, and only if you checked out with your credit card while purchasing from Indie Gala (Paypal and other payment providers are unaffected). We immediately contacted Indie Gala about this and they were also surprised and have since reverted their credit card processor away from G2A Pay.
If you have been affected by this, you should have received an email stating you were signed up for a G2A Shield trial for 30 days. This can only be cancelled in the two days prior to the trial ending. Please set yourself a reminder to do so, or contact your bank about blocking payments to G2A.
